In partnership with Weber State University Stewart Library and Friends of the Stewart Library, the Pilar Pobil Legacy Foundation presents Pilar Pobil's new art show, Mi Vida - My Art. This multi-dimensional exhibit celebrates a life that spans continents, cultures, and revolutions. It examines the myriad of ways Pobil expresses her identity while fostering social justices and explores the roots, and evolution, of an extraordinary woman.
On September 14, 12:00 – 1:30 pm, in Stewart Library Room 321 (Hetzel-Hoellein Room), a deeper look into Pobil’s life and art will take place. Pat Poce, executive director of the Eccles Art Center, and WSU Associate Professor of Spanish Electra Fielding will introduce Pobil’s Spanish history and culture and discuss her influence on the Utah art scene. A Q and A with the artist will follow; light lunch will be provided. The WSU community and general public are invited to this free event.
Additionally, Pilar Pobil will meet guests and answer questions during Ogden’s First Friday Art Strolls September 3 and October 1, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
